Family portraits are usually thought about for years. We all know the importance of having family portraits done (I only get on my soapbox and preach about it every chance I get) but nine times out of ten, adulting gets in the way of the wants and the needs get pushed to the top of the list. The years sneak by and the kids get older.
Our babies grow up in the blink of an eye. They leave the nest. They get their own busy lives and then it becomes harder and harder to get the gang back together for a family portrait.
As moms, I find that we sometimes cannot see the forest through all the trees. We are busy running kids to playdates, planning dinners, doing endless loads of laundry and making sure homework is done. We are BUSY!
BUT…..one day there will be no playdates to get to, it will only be dinner for two and the laundry basket will be empty. We devote so much of our lives raising our tiny humans and moulding them into self functioning adults that society will praise us for. It is a time that, as moms, we felt would never come to an end. We have plenty of time to enjoy our children. BUT….the eighteen summers that we have with our babies goes by at a speed we did not see coming. We deserve to hang our efforts proudly on the wall.
We deserve perfect family portraits to remember the most un-perfect, chaotic, busy, messy, exhausting, amazing time of your life.
